All dolled up for a night on the town. She was alone...like all the other times she had been, but tonight was different. Tonight she had got a call from her manager. He told her that he had gotten her an audition. She was happy. She wanted to celebrate, but with whom. This really called out to her that she didn't really have any close friends to party with. Scarlett was dressed in a new outfit she had bought just for the occasion. The store managered swore up and down she would look like a bearcat in the dress. She didn't know if she would like that or not? She wanted to look appealing to a man...a pure Sheba, but did she want to look trashy? That was a no. Hearing the clicky clack of her heels on the pavement she made her way to the special place only known as the speakeasy. Half her time was spent in this place why not use it to celebrate? Making her way in she stood in the doorway taking a deep breath. Smoke filled her lungs, and a smooth jazz beat comforted her ears. This was what she needed, but she wanted to dance. She wanted to celebrate. But you can't celebrate by your lonesome. That's never fun.

Embraceable YouIt was his night off, and like usual, he was with the boys. Joseph, William, and Robert, or as he called them; Jo, Willie, and Bobby. It was a regular night for them. Just having a bull session around a poker table. A ciggy hung from his lips as he raised his bet. The gang hoot and hollered at him, but he simply smirked.
His luck was good tonight, so far he'd won five straight hands against these chumps. He swayed to the jazz that sang through the joint. Even through all of the noise, he heard the door open. Off duty or not, it was a gut-reaction to look up and see who it was.
A wry smile crossed his face as he caught a glimpse of her. Scarlett, and she looked all dolled up. He laid down his hand face up; Royal Flush. He laughed gently as a few of them spew some chosen words at him. "Be right back, fellas."
He walked slowly towards her, tipping his hat slightly. "Evenin' Miss Scarlett."

Looking ever so handsome Jesse Jakeman slinked his way to her. Raising a brow with a slight smirk she met his gaze. "Mr. Jesse Jakeman." She paused looking him up and down. Handsome he was. "And to what do I owe this pleasure?" She smirked softly tilting her head slightly as her shyness welled up inside.
A song she was too familiar with came from the house band. Her eyes lit up as her eyes travelled to the small dancefloor. Letting back to Jesse her hopeful eyes pleaded silently as her hands fidgetted on their own. Clearing her throat softly she let part of her wall down. "Well I do believe I love this song." She paused giving a sweet sigh. "Do you think a hard biled man like you could accompany a young dame as myself to a dance?"
Standing her hope plastered on her face she watched the idea of dancing with her play out across his face. "Well what'd ya say Sheik?" She said giggling with a slight smirk.

"Mr. Jesse Jakeman." She paused looking him up and down. Handsome he was. "And to what do I owe this pleasure?"
He smirked, stepping beside her to watch the scene before them. "Pleasures all mine, Miss Scarlett." Oh yes, he was slick. "Well I do believe I love this song." He propped a brow, smiling down at her as he waited to hear what would come next out of those kissers.
"Do you think a hard biled man like you could accompany a young dame as myself to a dance? Well what'd ya say Sheik?"
He held his hand out before her. "Well, I say I think I can do that. And all ya ever gotta do is ask." He grinned, giving her a slight spin before leading her to the dance floor. Once on it, he began doing the Charleston with her, laughing softly.

Taking his hand she grinned prancing behind him as he twirled her. A smile broke across her lips as they began with the Charleston. She moved close to him giggling. Already the music had relaxed her, and she felt the tough wall around her emotions melt away slowly.
"Who knew someone made a hoofer outta you." Giggling the song instantly changed to a slow bluesy type of song. Scarlett slinked closer to him taking his hand. "So I know you can move your dogs now, but can you smooth it down to a slow jam." She grinned softly wrapping her arms around his neck.
Moving slowly to the rhythm of the music she kept her gaze on his. "So Jesse do you spend all your days off here?" She smiled softly. He was a go-getter. All of his actions made him the fun-loving lad everyone wanted to know. She had to pleasure to scam money from him, and even to dance with him.
Lucky...lucky her.

He shook his head at her comment before placing a hand on her waist and moving closer towards her. "I guess you'll just have to find out, hm?" He smiled gently down at her. A woman's gentle voice filled the room as she sang a song about love in the springtime.
"So Jesse do you spend all your days off here?"
"Not always." He replied easily. "Depends on who I'm with, or who I'll see when I get there." He grinned slyly down at her. "I came here with the fellas tonight. Bit of a bull session, y'know?" He paused.
"Then some bearcat-dame walked through the doors." He chuckled.
